The #STOPSIM Coalition is suspending all activities for a minimum of 4 weeks due to imminent concern over the safety and wellbeing of our team.
Over the past fortnight, members of the coalition’s core working group who have not stopped campaigning and working with NHSE for last two years have reached breaking point.
We made it explicitly clear to NHSE that publishing Tim’s letter under the circumstances they did would cause members of our team who had been working with NHSE to go into crisis. They did so anyway, without arranging any support or safeguarding provisions.
This caused significant and avoidable distress. A number of our core team are now in/very near crisis without access to any support. We must prioritise the immediate safety of our comrades. We ask for privacy and space during these weeks.
In our absence, we ask all health, medical and academic professionals to sign the open letter being organised by Fiona on twitter here.
We will not be checking email or social media during this time. If you have concerns about ongoing SIM practices please follow these up locally where possible.
Similarly if you have ideas for ways to support the wider campaign through investigative research, FOIs, local campaigning etc, please do so. We will follow up on leads if/when we are able to.
In solidarity
